"4. You must use an MPC to sequence your drums and at least one other component of the track. This could be the programming of chopped samples, the vocal edits the lead instrument, the melody or the hook. "

BG jumped ship...I'm sure if there's ever a "guitar" volume, he'd have a few on there 8)

Oh Oh...

Inflict uses the Beat Thang Virtual.

Call it a 149.99 dollar lesson, sand a big I told you so. yes, you guys were right about those guys. sorry for ever doubting yall. I actually used my mpc500 for my beats. and I made them after the project started,. I just bought a mpc1000 like a week before the deadline, but didnt use it on any of my tracks. it seems the 500 makes me more creative, I dont know what it is..

lol, yea. ill green, dj illusions, and I gave those guys a chance. shit, ill green pre ordered the hardware 2 years ago, and had to fight for his cash back. sometimes we give people a chance, only to get let down. there are a few others here who gave them a chance too, most of which have been disapointed.. but yea, lets PLEASE not turn this into a beat wangs thread. if ya wanna joke on me, and tell me how stupid i am for giving some guys from my home town a chance, and not listening to my mpc-forum fam, then bring it, I woulnt get mad, everyone makes mistakes.. I really like these forums, and all you guys, I cant stress that enough.. :wink:

A useful read for anyone interested in the theory behind Change.

Much of this can be seen in the context of this current project and earlier discussions on 'Special Editions'.

Change Management - Resistance and barriers to change

Resistance to change

A degree of resistance is normal since change is:

* Disruptive
* Stressful

Moreover a degree of scepticism can be healthy especially where there are weaknesses in the proposed changes.

Four basic reasons why change is resisted
Kotter and Schlesinger identified basic causes of resistance to change:

(1)Parochial self interest

* Individuals are more concerned with the implications for themselves

(2)Misunderstanding

* Communications problems
* Inadequate information

(3)Low tolerance of change

* Sense of insecurity

* Different assessment of the situation

(4) Disagreement over the need for change

* Disagreement over the advantages and disadvantages

Some negative comments often received on proposed changes:

* "My needs are already being met"
* "There is no justification for change"
* "I don’t like the way they propose to do it"
* "The risks outweigh the benefits"
* "It will now be harder for me to meet my own needs"

Individual barriers to change

* Tradition and set ways:
* Loyalty to existing relationships
* Failure to accept the need for change
* Insecurity
* Preference for the existing arrangements
* Break up of work groups
* Different person ambitions
* Fear of:

Loss of power
Loss of skills
Loss of income
The unknown

* Redundancy
* Inability to perform as well in the new situation

Inappropriate change management

* Change is often resisted because of failures in the way it is introduced
* Failure to explain the need for change
* Failure to provide information
* Failure to consult, negotiate and offer support and training
* Lack of involvement in the process
* Failure to build trust and sense of security

Why change should be welcomed

* Change can produce positive benefits for the individual:
* Opportunities for personal change and development
* Provides a new challenge
* Reduces the boredom of work
* Opportunity to participate and shape the outcome

Ok, I shall butt out of this now unless I have something to contribute about the project.

If you need me to respond to anything PM me, can't be reading all that shit to catch up.

There has been nothiiiiiiing but super pertinent conversation and ZERO name-calling!
I, personally, was pretty damned surprised...considering how these threads usually go!
