Copy files to MPC1000 harddisc usb problem

I want to copy samples from my macbook to the harddisc of the mpc1000. Somehow the harddrive of mpc1k doesnt show up on the macbook. Whats wrong here? The flash card works fine,, but no harddisc connect on usb.

you need to press "mount" in the usb screen on mp for it to connenct to a mac

you also need to turn the wheel on the mpc to select HARD DISK in the load from or save to field

it says this in the manual:

If you wish to load /save to/from the internal
hard disk, select HARD DISK.

The problem seemed to be in the usb cable. The last place i would look.
