Woohooo my mpc2500 is now fixed. The whole backlight system including the LCD had to be fixed.
total cost 400 bones, I am just glad it works again.... now getting ready to sell it and get an mpc2500 with jjosxl, can't wait to get back in my game. The guy who fixed it told me the actual LCD had to be replaced from the very beginning and that akai had not replaced it the first time they "fixed it".

Lesson to be learned; Always sent it to the manufacturer. If you're not happy with the repair the first time send it again!
If the RMA isn't correct make sure it is!

It took you longer then 3 months and cost you more at the end; 400 bucks + loss on the 5000 is all a waist.

this is true. Epic fail from all sides. I must say one reacts in weird ways when you don't trust the brand that created the equipment you are using.
