To Sequence or not to Sequence?

Im just wondering what people prefer to do...

do you make different sequences and build the structure of your beat in your mpc.

or do you just wait to track it in ableton for example and build the structure of the beat in ableton.

i have made a bunch of beats without making sequences instead i just mute in and out certain tracks etc...


Is it worth creating sequences?

If/when I do sequence... I do it in the MPC. Mainly because sustained synth notes gets chopped off when I copy and paste in a daw. Plus I'd rather deal with midi info than audio.

I track in to cubase and build the structure of the beat there because arranging the beat in the mpc is sooooo stone age and boring...

That's why i came up whit this idea and i hope JJ will make it.

None of the above, although I use to link sequences together to form a whole song. Nowadays I create a song with one sequence with quantize off, its so free and organic when you hear the final result. Thank God for overdub.
