Your thoughts on the sound quality of these samplers?

If you could give your thoughts on the sound quality and functionality (Good and Bad) of these samplers:


Akai:

s3000xl

I know from experience the s3000 sounds like the MPC3000, the s1000 has a nice warm sound as well, that sampler has a lot of character, i liked it. The ASR sounds good to, crisper than the Akai s series...cant speak on them other pieces.

I used to have both a s3000, s1000, and a ASR10 - i just found rack mount samplers unecesary for what i do.

Does the s1000 sound better than the s3000???

better is subjective, different just a bit.

but uh, its sound smoother to my untrained ears, not as hard.

Ultra 6400 has the best filters in my opinion and the AD / DA conversters are sick.... The mpc4000 also rocks my world...

check em out at a shop if you get tha chance....
