Troubleshooting the 8 outs card for 2000XL

In a similar fashion as you set up the 8-outs, go to the MPC mixer and select the lead / kick pad (the sound you DO NOT want to go to the main out). Now, just as you did for the 8 outs, you can either mute this or simply turn the main volume down (I don't have my mpc in front of me to verify).
Alternatively, you could take every other sound and route it to outputs 3/4, and then your outs 3/4 act just like your main outs.
Helpful to this is the 'all' button available on the mixer / indiv screen which selects all shown pads and you can adjust at the same time...useful for sending entire banks of sounds to the same output, or adjusting their volume together.

I don't know...I'm super frustrated with this.... When i open my mixer options and look around everywhere I'm still not seeing the option to set anything. Maybe i don't have the right OS installed? Is an upgrade required for the 8 outs card? I upgraded for installing the Flash drive way back 4 years ago...but never again since then? I think Im gonna open this **** up tonight and see if i connected the card wrong or something. I read somewhere about ide cables being backwards...Im thinkin i didnt even connect it right in the first place..LOL..just not looking forward to opening it up again. Its a mission and a half...growlz.

No special os is required and if you have an IDE card reader, you are already at the latest os version 1.2. Also, you cannot have the 8out cable in backwards because there is a notch on the plug and a cutout on the shroud that force you to connect it properly. That is the same way we do on our XL Flash IDE card readers, so there is never any confusion about how to connect the cables and none of that "cable swap" crap.

Look on page 132 of the MPX2000XL manual - this page shows where and how you assign the 8 outputs. If you need the manual, you can download it on our Free Downloads page:

That's really frustrating.

You were going to open your MPC up. Just open the manual up first. Less potential for damage.

Yea thats my bad...I use way more difficult/technical equipment than the mpc and have just been able to figure the whole machine out without the manual EXCEPT for this issue...lol...gonna tackle the manual tonight and get this thing working.
