So, My record player is hooked up to an old Pioneer amp and I have run a quarter inch cable from the headphone input on the amp into a splitter so it can go into the left and right stereo in on the Mpc 2500, but for some reason it converts the signal to mono. Any recommendations on how I can fix this? I also tried splitting an ipod signal into the stereo in and it did the same.

eeeeelp me please

are you sure the splitter connections are right?

I think the best thing to do is diagnose if it's the mpc which is converting to mono after recieving a stereo signal, if it's only getting a mono signal in the first place? Or if it's getting a stereo signal, are you somehow only monitoring in mono.

Try testing it out by sampling ony one side of a stereo sample and then the other. Use a sound that pans left right or vice versa. Look at it in the sample edit screen.
