Hi Everybody.
I did a search first but couldnt find my answer.

Does anyone know how to use the 2nd sequence function on the mpc-2000xl so that it works like mixing songs together? maybe its my mpc's OS, but i have to stop the flow in order to switch into 2nd sequence mode.

Please help.

If you got both your sequences loaded in memory. Then play the one you want first. Then while its still playing, scroll with the data wheel to the 2nd sequence you want.

That should work. I dont know if im answeriun your question right cuz it seems to simple.

not quiet, your suggestion will play the two sequences in 'sequence (sorry), one right after the other.

If you will look at page 36 of your owners manual, you will see that it is possiible to OVERLAP two seperate sequences at different points in their progresion. Just as if you were a dj mixing records.

My problem is that my MPC differs from the manual. It seems to want to cease play before you can layer the second sequence.

Anybody else have any suggestions? (please:-)

I assume you have two sequences loaded up and ready to go, hold SHIFT and press MISC>press the 2ndSEQ soft key>select the second sequence and hit the TURN ON soft key> go back to the main screen and make sure the first sequence is selected and push play.

yes, exept my mpc wont display the 2nd seq option unless the mpc isnt playing.

Your MPC is either broken or you're doing it wrong, I'd bet on the latter.

Your MPC shouldn't be playing when you set it up.

bassicly he wants to be able to play a sequence lets say sequence one then while its playing he wants to set the 2nd sequence funstion to play then it will play and he will stop the original sequence and change it to another. I cant do this on my mpc. when you push play the 2nd sequence option disapears.

i agree with you, its probably me. maybe i have an older OS.

Let me rephrase my question - - -

"Does anybody on this forum successfully use the 2nd Sequence function?"

Please advise!

i use it all the time its just that to turn it on you you cant have another sequence playing while you do it you have to stop playback.
