Where do you get your crates?

The standard crates wont work for records, but you can find longer rectangular ones sometimes that work great. I used to swipe them from behind one supermarket in jersey...yes I stole plastic crates, what a **** criminal act

Down here in Florida, we have Publix grocery stores which have these rectangular crates, that stack perfectly, have handles for carrying, and are easy to swipe, and extremely strong/durable. I also have a Ikea bookcase where i showcase joints, but in the studio room its alllll publix crates. Stealing crates is a way of life, but i guess some of you are collectors and not djs.

you talking about the plastic milk crates? yeah some of them are like an inch too short so you are stuck with records on an angle... however I have come across some that are just long enough so records fit straight in them. Those ones seem to have been by a different company or for some other product or something... cause they are a bit bigger.

Yeah, so have I, you just usually dont find those ones behind grocery stores and whatnot.

I haven't seen those period in years... the only time I see them is with records in them at people's houses and shit like that. I dont think stores here use those anymore....

I agree with the Ikea suggestions- I'm gonna grab a few expedit shelves if I can find 'em...

i've got 2 crates from walmart and i've gotten maybe 40-50 (idk exact number) records sitting in both of them. they're like $5

they work perfectly for holding the records

One of my mates was telling me about these yesterday, saying they were perfect for 12s.

your friend was right- I'm pretty sure Ikea used to have a gear head designing for them at one time...

For real, the Ikea ones work nicely! There called the Expedit series

Ah! I think I've got some of those i-cube ones - I got them from a record shop years ago and never knew who made them. They're even better than the Spybox.co.uk crates (which I've been using since the record shop stopped selling the cubes)
