Avid annouces Pro Tools|HD Native Core

It will probably do well in the project studio and smaller studio market. Any thoughts, speculation, rants, valid opinions, ill-informed and biased opinions, etc? I can't find it on their site yet, but you can find out more here.

I'm just passing the news along since many seemed to be waiting and speculating what Avid was going to announce today.

I personally thought it was going to be the 004 announcement or Pro Tools 9 or universal ADC. It's not for me but...

Well the speculation is over, the new Avid Pro Tools|HD Native Core has been released.

Avid Pro Tools|HD Native takes full advantage of today's high-power computers by offering you some of the top features of Pro Tools|HD at an incredible low price. Pro Tools|HD Native gives you blazing fast I/O, near-zero latency, automatic delay compensation, and full integration with Avid's HD line of interfaces, leaving your CPU to handle plug-ins and mixing. If you're budget minded but still demand results from your DAW, have one of these high-power computers, and prefer to track with outboard signal processors (rather than plug-ins), then Pro Tools|HD Native is perfect for you.

They need to give LE ADC and just have done.

Seems Avid are going hard releasing lots of new hardware recently (rebranding Mboxes for example) - The release of Pro Tools SE, and the new OMNI interface. Which is all well and good - But LE without ADC is fast becoming left behind for home users - or editors on the go like myself.

Been selling off my DIGI hardware here and using Ableton more and more - but I use HD all day everyday at work - so its a necessary evil - but editing stuff at home - and mixing there is such a pain on an LE system.

IMO instead of all these hardware otions - they should place such common features as ADC in their project software.

8.2 is out within the next few weeks i'm told - Will it give LE ADC?- nope (an educated guess, it'll be more of an HD upgrade for their new HEAT plugin , with various glitches ironed out)

im a hardcore digi dude but seriously man ADC for LE and call it a wrap already!! There are a few things under the hood of the software that can never be fixed. Its just the way it was programmed. They would have to rewrite the entire program and to be honest I dont want to see it happen. 90% of the time I work in HD so I cant complain but seriously come on!

Yup! I tell you what, and I'm only speaking for myself here, if they do not add ADC to the next iteration of LE I'm ditching it completely and only using HD when I can in studios around here. To each their own but despite the naysayers (not anyone in this thread) I actually really like Pro Tools and the work flow it gives me otherwise, even if I do use other DAWs. Pro Tools is still my favorite for dealing with audio and mixes, regardless of what anyone else uses. Even with that said, with HD Native I'm going to assume that the ADC happens in the software...so this shouldn't be an issue now for Avid to include it in LE.

It was a nice try, but Mellowmuse ATA is a **** hassle, to me at least and nudging is wack.
