Brand new MPC4000 from Japan won't power up

IF that is good, and I am suspecting it might be bad, then move on.

Test for power coming into the Mainboard from the power supply....
If you have a good multimeter, just set it to DC - AUTO RANGE

Make sure you have good voltage on each location

Start with that and let us know where you are

I wouldn't be suprised if it is the power switch

Power switch and power supply both work.

Hello Friend. I also have a " brand new" 4000. However mine worked fine the first time i powered it up. Over time i have upgraded it and from time to time i have had the same problem. For example when i installed the 8 out option board it would not boot. And when i installed the adat option it would not power up at all. What i did was checking every cable and sockets on all boards within, making sure it was connected proper. And at some point i dont really remember what board/card i was installing, i had to disconnect it, starting the mpc, shuting it down, connect it and so on. So from my experience just keep the lid off and try jerking around with all cables and boards.

Ohh and make sure that YOU ARE GROUNDED (electronically discharged) ESD, not in your parents house kind of way...

Out of curiosity was this advestised on ebay/online ad or did you buy it direct from a company in Japan?
