Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

What's good everyone. I just got my 4000, I love the sound, drums sound ridiculous on this thing!

Anyways, i'm trying to figure out how to hear the starting point of the sample when i'm adjusting the starting point. Why does the preview button keep playing back the default beginning of the sample (000,000) and not according to where I have the starting point selected i.e. (258,911). It could be in the middle of the sample, but the preview play starts from the beginning (000,000) WHAT THE BLOODCLOT!? I'm so frusturated!

Also, I briefly read in this forum something about playing your chops from a keyboard. Does anyone else use this technique?

The reason why they won't answer you question is because it is very rudimentary (sp)

To answer your question... somebody help me if I'm wrong....FIRST

READ the lettering above pads 13,14,15 and 16!

Take a close look at 14 and 15...especially 15

P>TO and P>FROM

When you select your start and end points to adjust them, pad 15 plays FROM whatever point you have selected.

Thank you man. People act like dicks because you might ask a simple question. I tried looking in the manual that thing is basically worthless if you ask me. The 4000 is a little different than the 2000xl that i used to have and i'm coming back to the mpc after using the MV8800 for a year or so.

Give me a **** break step by step the nktob producer.
