Think there might be a way to fix the screen...

So I have an MPC with a messed up screen. I started researching other stuff that has a screen like the PSP, Gameboy etc.

The guy is reconnected the glue to the LCD. I took apart my screen and if I press where the cable bends against it, to apply pressure, I can see more of the screen clearer. I don't have a heat gun to try the above method but I did put about 7 layers of 3mm wide electrical tape on the bend (at the bottom of the screen where it meet the lcd) and then on the metal face plate that goes on top, I put an ice lolly stick (made is narrower) so that when I put the screen encasing on and screw it shut, it pressurizes the stick against where the cable bends near the screen. My screen is a bit better, but not usable for me since I'm never used an MPC before I bought this one with a bad screen. The only thing I'm able to do is scroll through stuff on a zip, hit f4, then f6 (to do it?) and the press F3 which plays the sample.

Pressing the pads does nothing (this is normal at this stage right?)

I saw the mpc you were bidding on and was gonna bid too but b4 i placed a bid i asked the dude if the pads were working, he didnt reply back so i assumed they were not working.

The screen should not make a differnce to the pads. Try downloading a program for the mpc and test the pads otherwise it'll cost around £50 more to fix the pad sensors if they're shot.

Hi, the pads do work. Figured out how to load a sound to each pad.

i just bought a 2000xl with the same problem. bad screen. its semi-readable though.

if you could illuminate me as to how to load sounds to pads i'd be grateful. in the dark here with my huge zipdisk cable haha i feel like i'm in the 1998s

Lots of trial and error, I read the manual. But basically, shift and F3, try to select zip drive, click open window, scroll through directories, find a sound, F4 then F6, F3 to hear it. Then press a pad you want it on and then F5.
