lo fi 4 k

I just wanted to give insight on the 4ks ability to sound gruncy/gritty/LoFi, in case it went by u ..

I never really used it untill my last song and I did some 16/44 to 8bit 11k Resampling :Quality set to Low... and to my suprize my loops came out exelent!!! really cool lo fi sounding, dunno but I do think Akia got it right, its sounds great!!.. you must try this if you havent..

pitching sample way up and resampling them at that high pitch and pitching them down to orginal is a classik trick of doing lofi

Timestretching say vocal lines 200% at lo quaility 2 or 3 times will give that shuttering old school voice (as in Higher state of consouisness) very classik Akai trick

The Qfx in Trim have some are a great ways of giving grit to sound, and their implented beauitifully (so simple/press do it~!) they work so nicely on 8bit, you can even monitor the Fx version durning playpack of you seq before you decide to do it..

yeah I spoke on this awhile ago The resamplers on here is a nice touch in deed

Yo just read ya thread,..tried it and I must say..time stretch is a **** on tha 4k...."I'm gonna be resampling my bass for days to come"...big upz

Recording to tape and sampling back into the MPC also delivers very nice
results as you are taking advantage of the natural tape compression.
Ideally, your tape recorder is equipped with a read after write function,
so sampling is like "real time" and you don't have to rewind the tape for
the recording process unless you're recording more than 45 minutes in
one go.

Make sure recording level is high enough to benefit from this effect.

I've tried it before...on a custom sample I made...and it came out sounding gutter lol...

This sounds very promising. Can you link to some online sound files or clips where I can hear this? Having the versatility of the 4k and being able to make it sound gritty sounds interesting....

What does he mean by Qfx trim? I'd like to try what's going on here with the effect and all.
