so i have an mpc 1000 with jjos and i like it, made hundreds of beats with it.
however i hear all this glorification about the mpc2000xl and i was wondering what the costs
would be if i sold my 1000 to get the 2kxl. like would i have to upgrade/fix any common problems
with the xl and would they be costly, or even if i should just stick with the 1k.

thanks for your input...

Check eBay/Craigslist for prices?

You're not likely to get an even trade though... you'll probably lose out in the deal.

Are you happy with your beats already? If you're knocking awesome stuff out already then yeah... maybe moving on could get you to that next level. If you're just goofing around though save your money... more gear for the sake of more gear won't do anything for you.

yeah a few months ago dudes were selling their 1000s for about 700 in my area. and the 2000xls were about 600
so i posted mine for 600 a few days ago. then some fools posted theirs for like 400. im like oh great i aint ever gonna sell this shit. but yeah i make plenty of dope beats with the 1000 (not trying to be cocky. just no other way to word it.) that i sell.. i just hear that the 2000xl feels better and is more professional. theres gotta be some truth to that if dudes like pete rock, exile, kanye, etc..

but if those dudes learnt with it, it's what they know. if you learnt with something more modern and featureful, that might not apply to you

personally I wouldn't sell the 1k until I'd tried the 2kxl and decided which I preferred, but that might not be an option if you need to sell one to buy the other

true, but it appears that even that is becoming a thing of the past... so many people have been having issues getting out of stock replacement parts and akai apparently doesn't have any of them in stock too.
