2000xl zipdrive..how to get sounds to pads? noob question

hey guys,

got a 2000xl for 350 off nyc craigslist (lines in the display)

came w a zip drive and no disk. i'm used to an sp404 so i thought i cold just turn it on and punch the pads and get some drum sounds...NOPE.

so its an iomega zip 250....so i need to get some 250 disks, and THEN

how do i get sounds onto pads and start making beats?

sample some sounds and check the params menu...

i dont know how to put sounds onto zipdisks.....im used to recording sounds onto the 404 with the simple record feature...

who cares about zip disks...

your mpc comes with a RECORD INPUT on the back of your machine.... you do not need zip disks in order to record something.


ZIP disks are for saving later once you made a song....

Gotta do some research sun, E-bay & *SCSI for samplers* are good places to start looking for storage options!

But reading the manual should be the first thing you do!
