MPC 500 Questions

Hi.

I had a 2500 but i never really got around to using it cus it kept breaking (buttons, data wheel etc) and i spent more time trying to fix it than learning it, so i sold it.

Im considering getting a new 500, ive read up about its limitations compared to the 2500 and it seems like it will do what i need it to, i just wanted to ask a couple of questions.

Does the 500 have a mixer?

Also, say i have a sample and i want to tune it (pitch shift) up or down, does the tempo of the sample increase / decrease along with those pitch changes? i was unable to see if this was the case with my 2500 because it was a shit unit. if the sample tempo does increase / decrease with pitch changes, is it possible to lock the tempo whilst changing the pitch?

nope the tempo doesn't decrease when you change the pitch

so if i pitch up a sample, the speed of the sample will not speed up? likewise if i pitch down a sample, the speed of the sample wont get slower?

also does the 500 have a mixer like the 2500?

If you pitch a sample up it speeds up, and if you pitch it down it will slow down.

There are time stretch functions similar to the 2500 if I remember correctly (never used them so I forget off hand). Check the manual for best results on this.

There is no mixer, you'll need to play with the levels on a per sample basis.

you should get the 1000,,ive had both and the 1000 is much more reliable,,my 500 crashed all the time.

excuse me yes the tempo changes when you pitch the samples
i thought there was a feature on the 2500 when you change the pitch the tempo of your sequence change it will be a great feature
