Novation Bass Station

I just borrowed a Novation Bass-Station from a friend... despite it being only monophonic, it seems a fun synth...
Anybody here got one? Any opinions, facts or tipps to share? How much would you pay for a bass station in good condition?

Had one for a while, I really liked it immediacy and fun live sound tweaking.

The VST misses the point entirely. It's not the sound alone that is nice. sure the sound is good and cuts through in the way that analog only can. But when you combine the sound and live tweakability of all parameters and then drop it into a battery operated small portable MIDI keyboard, THAT's the point. It's the whole deal.. It's like ricers putting a loud pipe on their crapbox. the car sounds hot (to some?) but the car is still a crapbox. You need the 400 HP, sick suspension, leather interior and nice sound system to even approach a true high end vehicle.



TIP: use it to record some basslines over MIDI. loop that bassline, tweak subtly to taste. simple.

I sold mine for $150. Id pay $200 for one in food shape. where else can you get a pattery powered midi controller kbd with a real analog synth built in!!??

indeed...the vst basstation is lame!
on the other hand the vstation i'ts pretty 1:1 to the kstation, really a well designed plugin.
If I will ever find a bassstation in good condiotion at 200$ in my area I'll buy it too..keyb version

I have used the vst plugin in cubase, but as stated above, it´s different from the keyboard...i really like that analog dirt of the box when tweaking the knobs while playing... and yea...it´s pretty handy.

For my taste, it could be a bit heavier built, but otherwise it seems fairly durable.

I got a Novation BassStation and run it from my MPC. you can record all that twiddling though cc's to the MPC and reply them back as well so even better. Really nice filters that self oscillate which is really fat

The Bass Station was my first synth, or as I used to call it... the 'Treble Station'!

I couldn't get decent bass out of it, but that was basically user error as I didn't have a clue when I had it.

Totally agree!!! It was my first synth I paid for with my own money or didn't steal, really love it!

Re the trebble station I call it the Lead Station which it's great for..bass is ok but leads are great if I want bass I go to my Juno, Micro Q or my friends Doepfer A-100

whoever said about the vst version needs there ears cleaned.
