MPC 60 Win XP Zip Help!!

cool thank you. i will try out some A-B tests myself anyway as i went ahead and ordered the zip drive before waiting for a reply!

no loss really cos people that i do studio work for aren't going to notice a little sound quality after it's been mixed and eq-d - they'd rather have the speed of the PC-transfer and less programming cost per session! but for my own stuff when i like to take a lot more care i think i'll stick to sampling manually...

i am a relative newbie to MPCs although not to sampling. i like the "Best Start" function in the Edit Sound screen a lot so far! saves having to go through manually and find that start point that makes it all sound tight.

does everyone use the "Best Start" feature or are there hidden problems with it?

I agree with Arctec, the imported sounds sound cleaner. And HiHats benefit somewhat from importing, they sound more real.

The 60 converts the 3000 sound into a 12 bit 60 sound, it still goes through this process when you export it at 12 bit from the editor, so I usually just keep them 16 and let the 60 deal with it. Remember to save it once imported or else it will have to do the 3000 to 60 conversion again.

I rarely use best start anymore, but it is a good feature.

That particular format would not allow you to additional partitions, but I do have a formatter that allows windows to read and write to all MPC partitions, but unfortunately it has some problems with some versions with Windows and type of drives.

I have a 20 meg disk that has NTFS on it. I also have a 30 meg disk with FAT32. So you cannot always say that it is always FAT if small.

FAT can handle up to 2GB
Anything above 2GB is FAT32 or NTFS.
