I just started using protools a few days ago.But just to check it out i laid down a kick, snare and hat in the mpc(XL) and tracked them into protools. The only problem i had is in the mixer i assigned them to tracks 1-2-3 of the 8 outs. But for some reason i have to change the track to get the hat to track out.So instead of it being 1-2-3 it was like 1-2-5.Any advice?

To clarify.......let's say i have 8 sounds,8 pads. When i assign them to the mixer why is it not 1-8?

Appreciate any help.

Peace.

cause you crossed up your 8 cable snake somewhere.

I hooked up the snake outs first and then connected them to the MPC and even wrote them down just to keep track but i'll check.Thanks.

I'm using the M-audio delta 1010Lt with an 8 cable snake. So the outs correspond to the ins.I'm sure of that.I'm not sure what you mean about how i have the inputs labeled.I'm new to protools and the XL.(I use to use the 2K)The signal chain is right as far as i can tell though. But i'll just keep plugging away at it until i get it right.Appreciate the help though.

Appreciate the help fellas but i got it now.It was an easy fix actually that just had to do with the input paths.Just created a few more.........panned the drums left and right and it tracked correctly.I only tried it on 8 pads so hopefully things will go well when i create a full beat and track it.Appreciate it though.

Peace.
