anybody gotten this screen before?? mpc crash

Yeah Ive got this screen a lot over the years, making a beat for like three hours then it crashes.....thanks!,

Ive tried taking out the RAM and then putting it back in, which doesnt really do anything. I recently re-installed the OS and my XL hasn't crashed since, ofcourse theres time yet but hopefully it wont do it again. Ive read sometimes the zip drive can mess it up, in which case it may be worth investing in a flash card reader and installing the newer OS (1.20).

Try re-installing the 1.14 OS first though, hope this helps.

I've also gotten that screen, I found out that my 8-outs was jacked up and causing me to get this screen. I took the 8-outs out of my xl and i have yet to get this screen, and that was like 2 months ago.

but yeah save all the time and you're good. It's a reminder that the mpc is still a computer too and the same general "saving" rules apply here too.

i get that screen too. comes and goes. most of the time it happens when i edit my attack and decay on my pads in params. however it only happens when i use the data wheel. im scared to edit the attack and decay with the wheel now so i just type em in. when i get time ill open my mpc up and swap the ram cards...from what i hear that usually helps

Crash on a 2K Classic Anyone? Does the same go?

I can't see the screens pics cos I am at work. But I was working on a beat actually trying to make a dead line. Making a track for a promo video for a client. Anyways, I was working for about 5 hours straight. Was almost done then I was fudging with the note repeat function. It was midi -ed to a JV1080 and an Ensoniq Mirage (Old I know. Shut up! ) that I use a midi keyboard. And bam it crashes right before I could save. Dam I knew better, I yell at people at work for not saving stuff often when working in Windo$e Office. Just wondering is this crash just as common for 2K classic users.

sometimes my 2000 crashes and make a similar screen, always save your work when you made many changes in the program settings
i've noticed that the crash occurs when i heavily change the lenght of samples, but when i received my 2000 i got a bad system disk (don't know, maybe a formatting error in the OS floppy). now i got a new OS disk (1.72) and the do not crash occurs very frequently.

the 2000 classic is a great machine but it have that reliability problem. i've read it in many posts from many users
save your work frequently!

Thanks THX!!! I usually save all the time. But I didn't this time for some odd reason. I will try to DL a new system file and load it up on my external HD.

Also check this out viewtopic.php?f=1&t=137358 when you have time. They describe loading up a template along with your OS. Sounds like a pretty slick practice.
