Does the s950's screen ever go out? Like the 2kxl where the screen starts to get lines or is it just the back light that goes out? I see a lot of things on the back light, but I hardly hear about the screen going out or where to get one. Hope y'all can answer, peace

the backlight goes out which is easily replaced by a foil sheet

the harder thing to fix is the inverter if that goes out

So the inverter is something like this?

But the inverter affects the back light. Not the actual pixels on the screen correct? That's what I was wondering if I should be concerned about ever, having to the replace the actual LCD.

There is a way to get some "dead pixels" when you try to replace the old backlightfoil with a new one. So if the display isn't reassembled acurate, the display will show some "dead pixels". Thats the bad part. The good one is: They are not really dead. Its just a matter of contact so if you disamble the display again and put it back together accurate , the pixels will be alive again :)
