2500 with ableton

I'll make this brief and to the point. An answer or advice woud be incredible.

I've got an mpc 2500, I'll be getting ableton live soon. I have about 40 gig of drum kits in my 2500 an I can only imagine that I will always use my mpc for layering drums because all my kits are in there an it's so easy etc....so my question is, say I am making a song using ableton, is there possibility to still use my mpc for drums an for these drums to be represented in my ableton project. I suppose I could record audio through ableton (never used it just heard amazing things) but I would like to use midi to keep things simple.

so, just to be clear, lets say I have a blank ableton project, I then hook up my mpc via midi, can I lay down drums from within the mpc onto ableton, then go to a new track and use the mpc as a midi controller to play a piano from say komplete or something? (with ease)

Thanks for your reply, I know the question will of sounded as stupid as asking ermmmmmmmm is the day after friday, saturday or something...

so just to be double sure, I could sample a piano into my mpc, chop it, turn on my mac, start ableton, open abletons sequencer, sequence the piano using into abletons sequencer using the mpc to trigger my notes, save my ableton project/song, go sit on a train, open up my lap top, start ableton and listen to what I just did?

Like I said I've never used ableton (or any other music program) an I'm pretty much a complete spoon when it comes to technology (trying to learn).

I can only guess that I'd either have to do some kind of mix down in ableton to get my sequence into a wav file or have my mpc connected via midi with the correct programs loaded to listen to what I made.

if you only record midi notes in Ableton which 'play' your MPC, then you will hear nothing without the MPC connected.
You will have to record the audio coming from MPC in an audiotrack in Ableton.
