sound modules vs vst instruments

to each his own. I like to use all vinyl but i do use softsynths sometimes and vsti's. I also own a korg ms2000 synth. I love all that shi*. The vsti are like toys to me. that ish is fly.

F the triton Skala, forget that noise. Get something with personality.

ok, i hear tht elma, but could some one please tell me the deal with sampling the sounds off those instruments and using it in a soft synth.

i think u can by soundfronts to load into them. I know u can get the proteus and shi*

I wanted the Roland XP60 when I went to get my first keyboard...the salesman talked me out of that and into a EnsoniqMR61...which is a Great board by the way......

I picked the Triton because at the time I was reading about the Trinity and did comparisons but the Triton having a sampler did it for me........

After using the Triton for a few years I liked what I saw in the upgrades as far as the Studio version goes so I got that.........

I never really used the roland stuff....I looked at the Kurweil too.....The MOTIF ES tempted me soundwise and spec wise but I don't like the interface on the keyboard......again preference


The biggest complaint is that the Triton's sounds are "played"......hahaha
I find that funny. I had my classic 2wks before it hit stores and have made hundreds of tracks without getting through all the sounds........Though the introduction of the LE version DID help saturate the stock pre set sounds.....BUT who uses them any way.......

I build from the ground up and its fulfulled MY needs.......I just really started using the sampler on this thing......It is a very powerful tool as they all are.....You just have to pick the one that you think will work for you.......

I'ts funny that you say that cuz I was sayin' the same thing when I replied to this thread but ended up deleting that part of my post. When I first tried Sampletank I hated it cuz I couldnt run it without problems, once I built a new comp though I tried it again and it worked great.

I think thats the key to having a pleasant experience with software based music tools, having the power to really use 'em, a lot of cats try runnin' PT and other stuff on thier comps and are quick to dismiss 'em cuz they run into problems but most of the time it's due to the comp, not the actual program. Of course some programs are just garbage but ya'll get what I mean.
