Step editor/ MIDI related

How can I move every event in my sequence two ticks back in my MPC? Is it even possible? If not, can I do it using software? Thanks.

look up Shift timing in your manual.

I'm perfectly familiar with that feature but it seems to me that it always moves each event -2 from 0 (to .94), not -2 from wherever the event is situated at. I may be bugging, though - I don't have my MPC here.

why do you need to move everything back two ticks? there might be some other way to achieve what you need, what is it you are doing? sounds like you are trying to makeup for latency on a computer or something.

Not trying to make up for latency. I have a drum sequence that starts at 1.00.02 (and every event is +2), thus I'd like to move everything back 2 ticks. I realize I could just sync every other track to that one, but I rather not. (Plus I want to know if it can be done.)

It moves the events. You should lose all events before 1.01.02 and your beat should start on 1.01.00 maybe try moving it only .01 first and see if the note shifts correctly.

you will have to do this for every track one at a time.

I haven't tried using the time correct in Step mode. Me personally, I 'd use Edit and copy all event from 001.01.02 - whenever to 001.01.00 with it set to Replace.
