Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So I got a mpc 2000xl for a real good trade but the only problem is lines in the screen make it unreadable. What I looking for is some sort of text based tutorial that I can follow since I can not read my screen any help would be great thanks.

If you're just starting out on the XL....the screen is vital.I think someone here sells replacements or you might be able to get one from vstservices or mpcstuff.I can't speak for everyone because i'm not that use to the XL but for me it's necessary to see what's going on.

Peace.

I too have a 2KXL with a screen like that. Having no prior experience with an MPC, I tried my best with the manual and have managed to figure out how to load sounds to pads etc, but nothing else.

There are a couple of forum members getting new screens made. One is re-engineered the other not so much (and I haven't heard back from him about any updates)

Click the ad on the right for a MPC 2000XL tutorial. Well worth the investment if you are just starting out.

Doing more research and calling around to my local guitar center I find out that they sell used 2000xls with a warranty for only 220 so looks like I have no choice but to buy another one and keep this for parts. Kinda hard to believe we can send people to space but can't figure out a replacement screen for a sampler lol

Sorry kind off topic but I figured it was better then making a whole new thread. I searched and really couldn't find anyone giving a exact answer but is it possible to load an entire kit to the pads or do u have to do it one at a time? With not seeing the screen I figured I can get somewhere by loading a whole kit at once.

yeah you can load programs which sets the sounds up to the way you had it assigned.

if only you could figure out how to get to the params menu to assign samples to pads.... O.o
