What im tring to learn how to do the right way and maybe the fast and easy way is to learn how to make part of my song break down. Im not tring to be like just blaze but i have notice that he do some times. What i do now is say i have a 4 bar loop. Ill truncate that to 1 bar and i ll go in and change each and every track event so it will start to get smaller and smaller do it the way i want it do. For example (1,2,1,2,1,1,0.50,0.50). Im not sure if that help. I just want to repeat the 1 bar two times and then just get smaller and smaller and smaller. As of right now to do so ill have to go in and change track each track event one by one. When i try to do it with the time sig it just dont do it right.

Are you talking to me! Um let me try to clear my problem up. Lets say you just took a raw drum pattern (kick and snare) and you just wanted have it go from playing the reg. old patter to getting smaller and smaller. You know how you could use the note repeat and hold the kick button at the same time with the quantize set to 1/8 and the kick will land on that grid like that. well i want to go from 1/4 to 1/8 to maybe 1/16 with the whole track( all tracks at once) now if you have herd just blaze work you will he do this alot sometime at the end of a 8 bar loop or 16 bar verse or even at the end of the intro. The effects to me sets up drama or a climax point. If that came out clear let me keep going. Now when i program this i have to go and change all the events with the Edit/Bar function plus copy a few thingsb from here to there. The problem is i have to do it over and over again for every track and just because a pain sometimes and i wanted to know if any of new a easier way on th mpc 2k xl.

If I understand what you're trying to do correctly, then I think you just need to copy your sequence and cut it.

Example:

Keep a sequence with 4 bars, copy it and cut that new copy down to 2 bars. Then copy that new 2-bar sequence, and cut the 2nd bar off of it. Repat the process as much as you would like, and create a song to play the sequences in the desired order.

You could also do this in your DAW. Record a four-bar sequence and make a few copies. Chop one into a 2-bar sequence, another into a 1-bar, 1/2-bar and so on. Lay them out so that it feels right.
