Im being hired out as a producer this Saturday, and one of the problems, I know Im going to run into is being sure I get the proper sync for one of my clients mpc3000.

I know sometime on my mpc my drums fall out of time when I sync it up for a long period of time, I really really want to avoid having this embrassing problem happen to me during the session.

So if anyone here has taken their mpc to the "studio", or regularly sync up their 3k with PT, would you care to share any insight, advice or anything else concerning this, I'd be extremely grateful, I've already downloaded and printed the manual.

I dont know if he has the SMPTE option, I'm trying to get in contact with him beforehand though.

wouldnt it be the same for the 3000 as it is for the xl? If so then set it to Midi clock to what ever midi in on the the 3k that you want. You must also set the frame rate to 30 D, and on the 2kxl you should be able to find that by pressing open window while high lighting the the numbers that count the beats and bar on the far upper right corner. I know you have a 3k and im giving ya direction from what i do on a 2kxl. Now on pro tools you will want to set up all the midi or what ever is need but once that is done remember to goto beat clock and there is something you need to check, im not sure anymore cause i dont use pro tools any more.

Um another note! if your drums and what not fall out of sync after a while why not just record x amounth of bars 8-24 and then cut and paste the rest of the track together. On a small time level it saves alot of hard drive space at the same time its really no different than playing the whole track from start to finish.

Smpte is probably your best bet.
