- my fav drums of all time are dilla's. His snares have a certain snap/crunch that I am yet to hear from anyone else. Also the dude just knew timing like no other, his swing was just incredible.
- Pete rock...he has so many different drum sounds, a true digger.
- rza, straight grimey drums...seriously dirty!!!
- q tip... I often say he's one of the more underrated producers out there. The drums on midnight marauders are off the wall. He's got that dope snap to his drums, kinda similar to that dilla type sound (I guess the ummah was no fluke).
- havoc- he's kinda similar to rza, I may actually like havoc drums more I just like rza beats a tad more (not much though). He's got a nice vinyl sound, real dirty...
That's a tough question though cuz there's a ton of producers that could be in that top five. It's hard to keep primo out of it but I think his programming is some of the best but his samples don't snap like the ones I mentioned (my opinion). Also large pro is a beast as well as damu the fudgemunk and madlib.
