Use as controller with battery

Whatsup guys,

i was wondering if it was possible to control my battery vsti within ProTools LE 8 with my MPC5000? (Just like a MPD)

It should work..

Would love to try it but don't have a clue how i should set it up, maybe someone could help me out here

- In the MPC 5K track you want to control Battery with: choose the right Midi output (for example 1A if Midi out A is connected with your Digidesign interface)

- create an instrument channel in PT, load Battery into it
- assign the right Midi input and channel (for example 1) to the PT instrument channel

P.S. I don't want to sound rude, but sometimes a little trial and error and experimenting goes a long way.. you have everything in front of you.. most times it's much easier trying things out than explaining them

lol you are absolutely right about that, but i gotta admit that i'm a moron when it comes to this stuff hahah. You "ppl" talk so easily about midi ins/outs, this port, that port. LOL im getting confused by only reading it

but anyways, i will try your explaination tommorow when i get home i will keep you posted

ps. i've got a mbox 2 mini, should i connect my MPC to the DI inputs on my mbox?

That won't actually work.. the Mbox 2 Mini dosn't have a Midi interface. Do you have another Midi interface connected to that computer? You will need any Midi interface that is connected to the computer that has PT on it.. there are really cheap ones for the USB port.

Otherwise it's not possible to establish a Midi connection to your computer and thus PT.
