500 vs. 2000xl

I don' think so, I always am reading how asr's have about 30 second sample time. And that is with 16 mb, so 32 would prolly be around 50. Yet my mpc with 16 can't record more then 10 seconds lol. I have a 128 mb ram stick on the way though so im hoping that will help.

well I have a 16bit .wav song on my PC that is 3:13 long and it is 32.5mb in size. On the XL the ram expansion is only for sample time.

it depends on the gear's internal format for storing the sample data

Lol never would I let that trade pass me by ...500 is a peice of shit compared to the 2000xl

And my asr has 256 sec of sample time with 16mb

hey, what's the battery life like i you use those energizer recharge silver batteries?

Well, normal alkaline batteries can last you like 5 to 6 hours of play time, but those rechargeable ones are like 3 hours. Those lithium batteries can last around 8 to 12 hours of play time nonstop but are expensive ($20 bucks for the 4 pack).

I use to run it on rechargeables myself but you'll realize that every time it charges the duration time of the batteries lessen.

ahh man, cause I got some rather expensive energizer ones ... they have a few different models and I think these ones are the digital camera rechargeable ones... anyways my game gear does like 6 hours on six of those.... though I have only recharged them a few times so far.

my rechargeables seem to last a long time, they have never gone dead on me when im out and about. I just make sure to charge them before i leave. i have those cheap green colored radioshack brand batteries. and i have had them over a year now and they still last hella long. i would recommend getting rechargables. you will save so much money. back when i used regular batteries it seemed like my batteries were always dead. or i was always changing em

Yeah but you guys live in cold climates, here its 97F degrees everyday and battery life can heat up and die faster. I never saw a battery explode or leak when I was in NY, but here in PR it happens quite often. If you leave the batteries inside the MPC for a week or two it will leak and damage it. In cold climates batteries got a longer life, you lucky geographical bastids!!!
