Hey guys, new to the forum but have been reading for a looonng time. Love this forum, and the peeps that inhabit it. Got my mpc1000 about a year and a half ago, and have the latest jjos2xl. LOVE it. Since I got the machine I have been trying to figure out the simplest of things: I get my song made up of many sequences in song mode, but often I want to fade out the end of the track or fade in a sample in the beginning, but I just can't figure out the easy way to do this. I often record filter changes with the qlinks, and there is an option for lvl here, but it seems to not do anything for me. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I have read the manual as well as various jjos manuals, and either Im missing it or it's just not covered. Everything else on this machine seems so simple, I feel it's user error on my part at this point

to simplify, I just want to know how to automate track volume changes, and I'm stupid :)

Thanks guys!

look for "record mix changes" in your mixer settings

the rest is in the manual on page 44

you need to use the Qlink to track the mix changes (can be done on a separate unused track in song converted to sequence).

set the q link to the pad you want to automate.

using the overdub function, you can do your automation on the sequence or song, and it will record the mix changes (volume, pitch, filter, etc)

then, in play mode, you can use the "after" button to further edit the automation in play.
