wassup people
check this vid below of the legendary su-preme, he's doing this thing where he pitches up and down a sample... he keeps saying "give it the 16 levels, give it about a 10/13 etc...
please could someone explain to me what steps he goes thru on the MPC to do this (as if its done using the JJ OS)

In 16 levels select TUNE, then there is the option what pad to put the original note on. That's all he's shouting about

he plays the samples in POLY but he's got it so if you press the same pad again, it cuts off the sample and plays it from the beginning again....
as default (on JJOS) itsn't set like this

where do i find this setting peeps?

he is triggering samples in mono mode hence when he presses the same pad again the sample is played from the beginning, what makes u think he is playing samples in poly mode?

sup jpeg....i know he's playing the program in POLY cos he says in the video and the pack you can download for it with everything in it has the "Play:" set to POLY" (MODE + PAD 7 "Play: xxxx" [in the top right corner])
i know to answer to my problem now.... it's the individual Pads you have to set to MONO not the program, so other pads wont cut off other pads.. (only the same pad will cut itself off) (MODE + PAD 7 > amp tab > "Voice")

cheers for the reply anyway jpeg... Peace!

I think a lot are classic breaks, but if you want to have them put into a program for you... it may be worth it. depends on how lazy you are

The guy's a donkey, I mean how many times does he throw his arms about, yet taps his pads more like 0.0005 times as often, and then all his samples occur on the major downbeat? It's so lame. And he's talking about goin crazy!? Wow , how rubbish are those bits? truly mind numbing example of US overblown inversion.

Sorry

Ps, I'm sure his glasses have no lenses either, hahah!

oh, no he's a donkey cause he has fun with it and isn't scared to show it... dude aint acting like a thug/gangster/tough guy...

dude has made some extremely dope beats and his videos are showing basics... he isn't showcasing extremely detailed beats. it's for beginners... he is selling tutorials and beat programs so you can see on your own mpc what he shows in the videos.

oh, and need I mention he produces beats for sunz of man?

i respect some of the old sunz of man material n all, but i wouldn't bother with those drum packs he's selling... there's a video of him showing what's on them... and all it is is the most common breaks ever, but not even complete... he's simply trimmed one kick and one snare from each one... that's it! not even a damn hi-hat anywhere in there... not even an alternate kick or snare from the same break... you just get a BOOM and a BAP [his 2 favorite words]... so 2 pads per break. and i have a hard time believing that they're actually sampled from vinyl like he claims... if so, how come he's never sampled from vinyl once in any of his numerous youtube videos? he stole these from the "all the breaks" CD i'm sure. selling recycled drum hits is pretty weak if you ask me... but then again, most these kids nowadays are lazy as **** anyway... sooo...

...but having said all that, a couple of his youtube vids have made me laugh... and "No Love Without Hate" by Sunz Of Man is one of my favorite flips of an Al Green sample ever... so i can't hate on him entirely... i just think that drum pack he's selling is a waste of dough...
