well I the sample I record first (drum parts or the samples) happens in what ever order I find them from the records I am going through. You never know what you will hear.. yeah true copying onto other tracks... forgot we are in the 2000/2000xl section so you got f-keys

I know this song has more of an R&B feel to it, but obviously the swing enables someone to just rap over it. Which to me is pretty creative.

I feel like Rza definitely messed with the sample first and then laid the drums later. I don't think he started with the snare, maybe the hi hats or kick first. Or maybe he did what some of you are suggesting; start with a simple boom bap pattern and then mute each individual drum piece and see if you can come up with a better suited drum pattern.

The approach is interesting. How to create a master piece.
