A 24 track Otari, Ampex or Studer reel to reel tape machine would probably be the best analog multi tracker you could find.

More realistically, any good 1/4" reel to reel would probably serve you well with 4 tracks (mpc stereo to 1-2, vocals to 3, smpte/etc to 4).

Tascam also made a 1/4" 8 track that I keep coming across. It is cassette quality though. The 1/4" 4 track will definitely sound better.

i've never used one.

any recorder, analog or digital, will work fine with any mpc, so i'd suggest trying a more general gear related forum.

to clear up your confusion, an analog multitrack recorder is almost always going to be tape based. if it has a hard drive or cd or flash memory, whatever digital means it might have, then it is digital.

this can get confusing because we have analog signal flow going to a digital storage medium...but analog signal flow is so common it's almost always assumed. it's the internal processing that usually determines whether we call a device 'digital' or 'analog'.

a very good attitude.

The korg d3200 is a very capably machine, it will get the job done with no problems.

what is your budget?
are you willing to buy new?
Does your MPC have the 8-out board installed?

what other gear do you have?
