u torrent or "steal" software, u ask if a keyboard with midi could stream audio thru midi to the mpc??? this tells me u wont work hard for this ish so why are u doing it...research work and learn

When I say you can't torrent a piece of hardware I mean I'm trying to find the correct type of keyboard set-up before I buy it. Can't be a gearslut while trying to fund a normal life.

I'm not sure how I'm not willing to "work hard for ish" when I've bought an MPC and other hardware... Unless Mr. Monroe is thinking I run up into guitar center and snatch shit? I also don't see how it's assumed I'm not researching/learning. Is the MPC forum for something else besides learning about MPC use? Me asking questions is part of the research/learn process.

bennisixx- Thank you for being straight forward. My computer is...well let's say classic and latency is sadly an issue. But slaving the MPC to the workstation and cutting out the offbeat part sounds not-too-bad.

For real not having to purchase an external synth/keyboard would be nice. I'm just having trouble getting the 500 to play sustained notes for my lead/pad sounds. Stretching the sample to last longer changes the texture of the sound, and even if I raise the sample tune it still sounds.. not right. I'm not sure if there is a third step I'm missing, or if I'm just trying to do something that the machine isn't suited for.

because if u properly researched the equipment, got to the store and test u would know the basic fundemental that midi is data information...audio cannot be streamed via midi,

forum members will gladly help those that we see and believe actually educate themselves....to many johny come latelys tht wont be here next year makin beats..how u think we did it b4 the internet?

Read up on looping samples. You'll want to learn about start/loop/end points. This takes some practice though to sustain a note and won't always give good results.

Other tricks for this include playing the sample forwards/backwards back to back... playing the same note multiple times through reverb... etc...

If you go and get a MPC 500, it should work!
