How can i Play AU-Files on my Computer

hy everybody,

i got a mpc2000xl an checkin out the machine so far... i have one question.

all the samples i did from tt to mpc are saved as AU-Files on my CF-Card. so my question is can i save the samples also in wav on the CF-Card (because somebody told me his samples automaticly saved as wav) or can i only save as AU?

If i can only save AU maybe somebody can tell me how to play those AU-Files on my Computer? Maybe somebody knows a software who plays those AUs.

I am confused bout that AU/Wav **** and wondering if i am doing something wrong!?

If you are sampling from the tt straight into the mpc they are wavs.And basically any program/D.A.W can play wavs,unless you're on a mac,and even then you can use that VMWare or whatever and run windows programs.

You can change how the MPC saves sounds, as either WAV or SND (is this extension maybe au?).

Whatever the extension, I bet you can still load these sounds in an editor like Audacity...just import it as a RAW file, set your import settings correct (mono/stereo 44.k 16bit), and then realise that you will get a little noise-burst header or footer at the beginning or end of the file, which you can edit out.

thx for your answers so far but i only can tell what i see and i see some mean ass AU-Files (even if i name them .wav they dont work). so if somebody can tell me how to set the mpc right for sampling as wav i only can say thank you. if theres nobody who can help me with this au/wav problem maybe somebody can tell me how to play them mean ass AU-files?

Just try it.

And it's very easy to save mpc sounds as wav...when saving the program you select ~'save with waves'.

thx 4 your help man! i am on the beginning of that mpc production thing. sorry for my questions. some people think what the hell is he asking. but now i found how to save samples as wav and it works. so the au time is over.

there are thousands of other questions on my head but i will do it step by step. the problem is i aint got nobody who can show me the mpc for real in my little studio. so i have to ask in forum or have to watch in the manual.
