mv-8000 versus equal MPC

I've owned both. The MV8000 wins the feature/options battle hands down. There is just so much you can do with the MV. But, at the end of the day when I want my sequences to have that rock solid feel to them, I just have to have my 2000XL. A lot of the features on the MV, I can live with out although they would be nice on my 2000XL. If my 2000XL had a VGA out put for a monitor and editing capabilities, I would never look to buy another drum machine. I like the MPC the best and another issue that I ran into with the MV is terrible MIDI lag when used with some rack units. Especially the Roland XR. There's nothing worse than dealing with MIDI lag. When sequencing on the MV, it almost like the groove of the beat is being held by something. Kind of hard to explain but when you work on an MPC you can tell the difference immediately. Just my two cents..

Q. I rep the Beatmonsters, we coming with some heat. but anyways. im a serious gear head digital is cool, but I like the hands on stuff. I want to get every freaking keyboard out.. but my paper ain't long like that yet. Right now I'm working with the Roland. (The Fantom series is the truth for those who don't know about it). O man I love that damn machine. I also have an MPC which I fired when I started using the Fantom... but I was wondering what's up with the Roland MV 8000, I was thinking of getting it. Heard it's the MPC killer. I just wanted to know your thoughts on it, have you ever used it? Also which workstation do you think is better.. the Triton Studio or the Fantom.. I had a studio before with a Triton LE and I loved it.. but my studio burnt down .. and the Fantom made the cut for the rebuilt studio. I just want to know I made the right choice. Thanks for your time. please get back at me ASAP

A. The Fantom is the one. And by the way I don't believe in replacing something that works, I would use the Fantom and the MPC if I were you. That's like using one gtr for all your music. I mean if you have to it will work, but I'd rather have ten to choose from. As far as the Roland MV 8000 it's a hot machine but I don't know about that "MPC Killa" stuff. When the Roland came out there was a buzz on the streets about it like every other new instrument that comes out. But the MPC is still goin strong. Matter of fact there's about 5 or 6 of them out now.

..there are 5 MPCs on the market today and 4 more that are no longer in production. Almost 20 years of MPCs....

Started making beats about 6 years ago got the privilege to start off with an MPC 4000.
After I sold it bought an MPC 1000 but it wasn’t the same saved up for anther MPC 4000 nothing compared but could afford the 1400$ so I sold it again. Hey I need the money….
Ok now I wanted to make music / beats again.. but no way I have 1400$ for a mpc4000 and I don’t recommend the 1000……

SO after reading a bunch of reviews …I found a MV 8000 for 375$ had to buy it .. 1000$ less then the 4000 …….how is it???????

I love it took me about 1month to learn and made a few beats already I posted one on my my space so yall can compare it the MPC4000 I also have MPC beats…the mV8000 makes it real easy to sample but I sampled from the TV and it’s a bit static ie but the MV 800sounds good.to me will post more beats as I make them… don’t believe the bad post on MVs ……….1000$ cheaper is way worth it..

The 8000 is all i use, it depends what you put in it, go on you-tube, check out the *nation*, Roland site, the *Roland clan*, heck even I'm working on a little blog page!

which of these units,(MPC versus 8000), is more intuitive

My ex-looked like a awsome workhorse to.. then i found out that all the high maintence , non user friendly interface at random times just was not worth having.

Mv has better features hand down
Mpc has better workflow hands down ...depends what u need ..workflow is a little more important to me then features

There's nothing wrong with the MV's workflow. In fact it's pretty damn smooth unless you try to approach the MV as an MPC. There's nothing that touches the chop section on the MV IMO.

Whats cool about the MV is that there's so many methods to make a beat on it.

I'd never get rid of my MV-8000 or my MPC2000XL. NEVER.
