Yamaha QY20 with Microkorg

What I want to do is have the QY20 feeding the Korg a bassline or riff, and then be able to tweak the sound that is coming out of the korg live by twisting knobs. Is the QY20 the right tool for this?

well, any midi sequencer will do. so just use your mpc.

you *can* simultaneously send separate tracks to accomplish both with just the MPC... have drums playing as well as multiple tracks sending different midi data as well... the MPC is one of the best MIDI sequencers out there... i don't see why you need a separate piece of gear to do something you already can [and even better than that QY20]. am i missing something here??

just make a new program, select a new track. then use that to record the midi for your korg.

whaaat?! dude, don't sleep... the MPC originally stood for "MIDI PRODUCTION CENTER" in the first place... just switch your track from Drum to MIDI and set the proper MIDI channel/output and you're good to go...
