The people who would "give" money to this joke of a company are the same lambs who give money to evangelists!!!

This company is a joke. from the management who are the same as the reps, to the logos, to the website, to the design, to the pictures of their profile, to the name of the features, to the promotion, to the color scheme to etc etc. Freaking christ, this is a POS just ignore these jerks you gear whores!!!

lol, the background noise comes from my camera's mic/basement, I always mute it in my videos when I'm not talking, had nothing to do with the machine lol. Some may like constant air and background noise in their videos, I don't, so if I'm not talking, I turn the video audio off.

i respect the fact that they made an effort to develop a new drum machine but this just looks whack to be honest. i dont think it will even come close to competing with the MPC series or any other drum machine/sampler

hardware seems to be solid, I was def thinking it would be plastic when I first heard about it a couple years ago ( I think it actually was?), has a nice weight to it. The pads seem responsive and the buttons don't feel cheap like they will fall off, most of them are rubber buttons like on Maschine. It doesn't make any mechanical noise as there are no fans or anything, that could be good or bad...I plan to leave it turned on the entire time I have it (unless I take mobile and the battery runs down) to see what heat/constant use issues may be there.

The OS is still in beta/test phase so it's not fully complete, I was able to make some sequences with the internal sounds and last night tried some sampling which seemed to work okay. Of course there's still stuff that needs to be worked on so I will definitely be voicing my opinions to them about it. Since it's a beta/test unit i can't talk "too" much about features to do nda agreement but it does all the normal stuff a sampler/sequencer would, the main issue will be if they get the workflow and everything ironed out during this test phase., and if they actually listen!

Not sure how many other folks they sent test units to, but I document everything I find and suggest to companies so if I get a chance to compare the beta OS to the real OS they ship I'll know if they listened to the feedback or not, and all that stuff will be taken into consideration in my actual review of the unit once they finalize and release the product

so listen, are you able to tell us about some of the specs in your unit that they sent you? are you allowed to open it and tell us really what is inside it? (ram, cpu, general specs, serial numbers that may indicate how many have been made before yours etc...)



I for sure trust you over what the wangz say... how is the integration between that and the virtual even though I doubt you would want to ever do that... but you know... for importing to the computer over usb.


and finally, are you required to ship it back to them or is that unit yours for good?

it doesn't have any serial number on it, I was talking to one of the other testers and they have the same tag on theirs that says pp1-01 so I'm assuming that means preproduction and they will start serializing the official ones.

I'll have to ask about opening, but from the system settings it says 249mb ram usable (assuming it's 256 stick) it also says user 920M which I assume is the onboard flash storage.

I was able to plugin an sd card and it recognizes it properly, and I loaded some kits/patterns I had made on virtual, they came up properly in the hardware but I haven't messed with actually connecting them via usb/midi or whatever.

since this isn't the final production unit it will be sent back to them after testing...if I like it, maybe it will be switched out for an official off the line unit

I know! it's been like this since I bought it, it IS my new one lol My old one doesn't do it, so I think it's time for another upgrade lol.

so st joe, is this unit you have expandable up to 2 gigs of ram like they said it would be?

I think 256 is the max, 2gb must be the flash storage, about a gig reserved for factory sounds and a gig for user storage.

Only because there isnt a Kang responding I will reserve my clowning and listen to what saintjoe says about the product.

man, I thought the whole thing was supposed to be like 2 gigs... what the hell are the two sd card slots for if you can only load 256megs worth of loops? Maybe copying stuff to the next card? or one for loading one for saving?



I do like the idea of two sd readers though... 2 gigs of storage space is not 2 gigs of memory unless we are talking about an SP.

I spent 2 hrs today in Dawson's demo'n the "BeatThang".

It's better then the maschine and the compressor is fool proof.

We had all the emo's in the guitar section muttering "He ain't no Dave grohl".

That boot-up time was crazy.
