NYC MPC Users: Need Help With Repair

Hey fellow MPC users - like many ppl here, my cursor buttons on the MPC1k have stopped responding properly. I went to a few music stores in the NYC area (Armen's, Rogue music) and got quoted 100-125$ for the repair (which is extortion, IMO, considering the same repair cost me $40 in montreal. Plus, I don't have that kind of capital to spare right now). I have some experience soldering so I thought I'd attempt the repair myself, but found it really difficult to get the circuits off the motherboard.

Long story short, if anyone on these forums lives in the NYC area and has experience repairing the cursor buttons on the 1k, I'd be extremely grateful if they could spare a half hour to show me how to pop off the circuits from the motherboard so I can solder on some new tact switches underneath the buttons. Other than my deep gratitude, I'd be happy to compensate you for your time.

Let me just add that I've changed a bunch on my 1k, and actually have to fix an arrow cursor anyways on mine so let me know.

^^ahha thats a dam good offer pound.anyways if u buy the tact switches u can take them to a electronic repair shop to solder them in.they charged me 20 bucks for the soldering

I got homie, cant let him be without his MPC, plus I gotta fix a tact switch on mine too so F it whats one more.

where in montreal did you get your mpc worked on? was it a random shop or is there an mpc specialist locally I dont know about?
