exactly, st joe is that dude when it comes to new gear.

man, I thought the whole thing was supposed to be like 2 gigs... what the hell are the two sd card slots for if you can only load 256megs worth of loops? Maybe copying stuff to the next card? or one for loading one for saving?

I do like the idea of two sd readers though... 2 gigs of storage space is not 2 gigs of memory unless we are talking about an SP.

I'm still trying to figure that out myself, I thought at one point they said it would work similar to an sp where you can stream from the cards, but I don't know yet, I'm going to try to find out. I know the 2gb was in relation to the flash memory, half is reserved/used by the factory sounds and for future sounds, the other half is for saving user data.

The cards show up as sd1 and sd2 but I'm not sure if there is a difference between the two and how the machine addresses them.

All things aside, I have to give props to where its due. These guys created a product and their trying to sell it. Their not talking about a dream that hope to happen like most people.
Yes, the packaging is horrible, the boot time was slow, but its here. Everyone has to start somewhere. If this is BeatKangz in their crawling stage, I'm very impressed.
We can't and shouldn't expect 30+ years of experience out of a brand new company. Most manufacturers are focused on software; they delivered hardware that isn't plastic. I can respect that.

If I can give a tip to the owners:
(1) Find a spokesperson to do all the talking. Getting upset in forums will not increase sales.
(2) Get someone that can make dope beats to do the video's. Rockwilder is dope, but not in them video's...not at all.
(3) The MPC/SP1200/ASR audience likes beats with samples. We don't care about 20,000 preset sounds.
(4) $99 for the software is nice. $999 for the hardware is not nice, especially at this rough economic time!

lol.. have you even tried the software man???? I use to support this company, but the main prez is a **** douche. they promised all kinda shit in the software and its been over a year and none of it has been added to a **** update. then when i spoke the truth they banned me from their forum. when you have a problem with their product aja the prez will belittle you, like,"you dont know how to make beats, your computer is too shitty to run the software, you dont need midi mapping, you dont need a grid view, what have you done to make a difference in this world"... yes, he really asked me that. etc etc...they might come out with a good hardware, but the fact of the matter is their front man is a **** piece of shit... just ask illgreen of his experience with the kangz, or should i say flowers ass aja.. ???

other then that, i hear the actual hardware itself is sturdy. the only thing you gotta worry about is the software that the hardware runs. its made by art&logic, the same company that made the beat thang virtual software.. dont jump into it based on promised updates in the future. they have already proved themselves in that light...

Damn! That's crazy! Well, the attitude of the owners will definitely be seen in the sales. I've never tried the hardware or software, but I thought it was a good thing that they actually created something.

the only thing BK has "created" is a bunch of fake identities for themselves on message boards all over the internet... real transparent attempts at viral marketing on their behalf... no one cares about this POS except for those circle-jerking clowns. i hope that lame piece of hardware does actually come out so that it can finally fail to sell and leave these BK spammers in debt for life.

lol.. wow!! that was harsh  i just wish people would do right by each other. these days everyone is out to get each other, it sucks. now after dealing with that company i'm very hesitant to deal with any new companies. sometimes i have trouble reading feature lists, constantly thinking i'm being lied to, or tricked..

Its just a proto guys, don't believe the hype. Its not even ready for manufacturing. Its vapor-ware at its finest.

I'm glad Saint Joe got it, his unbiased views will definitely let us know if its pro or a toy.

Please don't buy it until you see advertised in your Sweetwater or Musician's Friend catalog. Word to the wise.
