S950 w/ MPC

Hey guys i was just wondering why when ever i see a mpc 2000 or 60 or even 3000, its sometimes accompanied by a S950. Is the s950 really necessary? what does it bring to the table that the mpc cant do itself. just wondering.

People use it for the 12 bit sampler thing(!?). To get more crunch, punch or whatever for samples, drums etc. They sample into the 900/950 and then trigger it using a mpc. Like people want a sp 1200 for the sound it has.

Beside that the 900/950 is a sampler made for playing instruments (multisamples). Not possible with the MPC(in the way the 950 does)
