losing tracks while recording in record mode

recording in the record part
win i switch back
while overdub is still on my track is erased
and my track gone some body tell me its a
glitch or akai malfuntion problems

Thats happened to me a few times.

Yeah that happens when a sequence loops and the sample overlaps from the last bars and back the the first bars. Check your pad settings in Program mode.

What OS are you running? I have 1.31, and it seems the 500 comes out of the box broken! I was having similar issues before I upgraded.
