Hi guys. Tried searching, but no luck.
I juts wiped out an entire HD of my 4000. Got too cluttered plus I want to keep it really simple and structured this time.
So my question is..
I use a hybrid set-up. Something is done in Logic something on MPC and so on. I've got a huge drum library on my Mac, which I probably should filter, but there just too many samples to go through to create my own library. And I noticed that my productions can vary drastically in genre these days, so you never know which sample library you might need tomorrow.
I want to dump all my drum libraries in MPC. But I don't want to go through 1000's of kicks every time I need a kick and I don't want to just stik to say 20 kick that I think are working, I want to keep my option open. I was thinking of a way to instantly create and map an AKAI program file with say all 96 kicks mapped to available pads and banks.
You know, like in EXS24. You just drag the whole folder into an editor and it maps the entire library across the key range.
What I want is so I can load a multi named Drums which will contain number of progs, named like House Kicks 1, RnB Claps 3 and so on, so I can just go through patches and pad bank quickly to find a kick or a snare that fits a song.
I know there is something called Extreme Sample Converter, which I believe will let me do something like that, but as far as I'm aware it's PC-Only. I know I can get it work through parallels, but I'd rather not if there is an alternative.

Please help me to organize my sample chaos so I can glorify the all-mighty MPC like I was some time ago. I'm feeling depressed and down as I find it quicker and easier to build my drums in EXS24 nowadays then using my good old trusted MPC as my EXS24 library is much much more organized then an MPC one, and I don't want to give up on my 90's beat making heaven machine just yet.
