i got banned from their forum for speaking out against aja, dude lied many times, he is not a very pleasant person to deal with, and he will belittle you for the softwares shortcomings, acting like you aint no producer, or you dont know how to make beats. i supported them since day one and now I dont, if that goes to show you anything.. ive supported propellerheads since reason1.0, now thats a long time, think how much money has went their way from me, reason updates, record, recycle. the kangz could have had my support, but no, they lied and lied and lied it away...

I think the issue with the marketing is..

dropping over a grand on a product that is just as expensive as a computer is a serious move done by serious people. To most people a grand is not spare change. However their product name, design, the feature names, etc... that shit looks like it is aimed at idiots who have no class or education, or any **** intelligence.... basically people who dont typically invent thousands into their craft (in this case beat production).

Who ever okayed the business model is an idiot. There is no aspect of this product that sounds technically advanced. What is the point in dropping technical specs at your target market which judging by things like "freak button" are a bunch of morons who wouldn't get them anyways?



That being said, it isn't that I dont think the product physically could be capable, it's that these guys aren't worth doing business with which includes the software side of the unit. They cant get the VST pluggin to work properly and they want to **** you around when you ask about advertised features? Well what makes it seem likely that they will do any better on a proprietary piece of gear?

Even if they succeed in the end I don't think taking the risk is worth it. It aint innovative enough, it doesn't do anything I cant already do (and without the dorky idiotic names that are almost insulting) and it aint at a cheap cost.


There are plenty of other indie gear designer/manufacturer/companies who are successful and dont **** around, roger linn and dave smith are prime examples.

Not trying to be funny, but you could have done the same thing with a radio, or the tv. Maybe I was expecting more interaction with the software besides playing a preset beat.

Funny, the Kangz tatics remind me of that UK movie where a group of young criminals build a super computer but really its hunk of scrap metal and they sell it to a bigtime corporation for millions of dollars until later the buyers realized that they got gypt into buying a metal box with wires. nah, you haven't missed it lol, I'm currently testing it and reporting bugs. This is a beta unit, the OS isn't complete yet so there's really nothing to 'review', when they "finalize" the OS, as in, put the OS on it that will ship to customers, assuming they send me that OS as well, that's what I plan to review. I probably shouldn't have posted any vids yet since it's a beta unit but oh well, their agreement didn't say I couldn't....so I did lol.

As previously stated in this thread, i don't get who they are marketing this to. People who lay down 1000$ on gear ain't likely the onces who wants a machine with "grills" and buttons that say "blang".

I would like to see a beat thang timeline. Isnt it like a couple of years now since the first post about it? that they were releasing it "anytime now, just some bug-fixes to the software", and now the first beta-units is out. Maybe it is all just the most eloborate forum-trolling ever.

yeah I was never a fan of the marketing, and I could care less about a grill, or BANG

I was interested when I heard about it (over 2 years ago) because it claimed to be portable, run on battery, use sd cards for storage, etc.

Seemed like a good tool I could use "away from the computer" so we will see.

So far the battery life is actually pretty long, I was surprised, then again, I don't leave the "BLANG" on
