this. exactly.

Yeah I saw Everything But The Girl live once in Los Angleles and they were supporting the Walking Wounded album. That release was heavy sample based record. So on tour they had an Electronic Drum Kit and it was triggering samples from a racked sampler. It was very cool. I was amazed they could pull it off. There are youtube videos showing their setup for that tour. Each song played the drummer ad libbed a bit with the tracks giving the tunes a very lively feel. It sounded somewhat better than the recorded performance.

So imagine you will get a more live feel to your samples. Very creative my friend post your results! :D

There is no better way to get a live feel into samples than this method. I made a DIY e-drumset with practicing pads and the s900 with the trigger inputs board. Its not that sensitve than professional pads (and I really need to practice more) but its really fun to play the MPC with that.

i have a pretty cool idea that involves an electronic drum kit with outputs for each individual kick / snare / high hat ect, hooked up to each of their own speaker / sub / tweater from car sterio gear running thru their own compressors and effects ect designed for use & to be listen to in the room it was build in

this idea unfortunately would cost thousands of dollars and really wouldnt be worth it but it would sound awesome
