I was told that you can play your mpc along with Live. I mean you can record str8 from your mpc without making a seq, you can just record as you play. If this is tru how do you do it because i can see the meter moving on the track as i play but it records no audio also the track is armed. any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

thanks for replying. what im trying to say is, I got my chorus and melody going exactly how i want it and now i want to add in my drums, and i was told that you could record from your mpc as the chorus and melody plays. its like playing your mpc without actually recording a seq but live is recording your pad hits its almost like a play along situation.

you trin to record the midi notes and use ableton sounds?

Change drum01 into midi. You should be able to record the midi notes in mpc and ableton at the same time.

Hows ableton live btw? I use cubase and or reason synced to mpc. Reason is easy as hell but the sound is somewhat thin and cubase sounds **** nice but its abit tedious. I need something like reason and cubase combined...........no rewire pls

ableton is bannanas. It syncs real nice to whatever ur using and the timestretch is some real slick shi*.

Uh bout the recordin. Is ur track armed? u need to hit the record button on the track before u record.

see what i do is get all my sounds ready then sync ableton with my mpc so when i hit play on the mpc ableton starts goin. Then record like 4 bars of drums, then i turn off sync and i then build the track wiht ableton.

MIDI out on MPC in to MIDI in on PC. Click the "EXT" button on the top in Ableton to sync it to an external clock. You will need to go in to the options and make sure your MIDI in and out are selected. You may also need to mess with the timing depending on what drivers your audio card supports to keep everything in time.
