DIY pad sensitivity kit?

Like in threads title - anybody has any idea how to do it? I've got some non-stock pad rubber and pads are just too hard. I know its possible to buy kit like that on mpcsytuff etc, but it makes no sense to order it for me, because costs of shipping would be higher than a price of this kit I suppose. That so - could anybody help me in 'upgrading my machine?

whatever you do, DO NOT use foil.

some genius started the rumor amongst 1k owners that putting a piece of foil under the pads 'increases sensitivity'. it just shorts out the connection and you get full velocity every time.

it's so sad that there is a 30 page thread over there where people suggest doing this.

as for increasing the sensitivity on a 2kxl, I don't have much insight on how to do it. honestly, i would just suggest playing the instrument more and learning to use it as is...the pads on a 2kxl are some of the nicest of the series, and they take some getting used to.

saw a youtube video where someone cut small strips of electrical tape and and stacked them to the underside of the pads.problem is electric tape adhesive usually gets gooey after a while.

im with nogginj , get used to the pads and sensitivity. crank the volume knob up and hit the pads light

You didn't get, turn. It's not about volume while pad is pushed. Sometimes sound just not comes out, while pad is pressed 'wheels' on the bottom of pad-rubber are thiner than in stock Akai's rubber, so they're less sensitive, too.
And of course I'm using it as it is. Sometimes it's just a bit annoying. A few days ago I had an opportunity to try stock xl's pads and they're just a way better. Mine feels like a MPD one.

Mpc stuff has what u need $15.00 are u saying u have 3rd party pads ? Like a special color ?
