price tag is pretty hefty,


if doesn't seem to bring much new to the table either not that I have done much research on it. I think the thing is, this is kind of a gadget that just gives us the same stuff with a new look.... with the fat price of ... at least 4 times what the components are worth.

It just doesn't look that inspiring to me.

I like the vst/i support.. dont like the white pads. the on the fly stuff looks cool. If I can get one of the label goons to kick it in , Im game.. but im sure the 4k turns into 3k and the synth is what impressed me the most. you can sidechain compress the pads also... I want a new synth toy.. that looks fun

In this day and age with the fall of the economy, expect the same fate as Open Labs. Not hating on it because the machine is dope, but I can do most of that stuff on an ESX.

well it is a fullblow studio with a fast access interface, meant for studio & live apps.. Appealing to some, personally ill take a Sectralis 2 over it anyday (leaving the pc in the studio when going live..

+1 for the Spectralis as a great compliment to the MPC 4000.

yhea the spectralis 2 has 2gigs, so you can resample the whole studio and just hit the club ..and it sounds frikking amazing

but... I don´t mean to nock the Rihz ... if I had the cash I´d likely try one out, it could be a top choice if you work allot with vst and pc or simply if you hate to work with the mouse, it clearly is a groove box killer ...

its competeing on a hard market though: Rihz vs pc + controllers or more futurist: Rihz vs Touch screen pc´s... but the UI might be the main traction/selling point ..I hope it will sell well! and I applaud the guy for doing this project (they need to update the look though! its fugly 4 grand)

I bet those who take it up as their main seq platform will take it to their grave .. sort of like I feel about my spectralis
